Very little, as shown in the 5-4 decision to allow child rapists to escape the death penalty.
Let me put this together here for people who think liberals "love" children so much. They have used the courts now to make sure that the unborn are not protected, and the perpetrators of child rape are not considered heinous enough to put to death. They think exploitation of children is a bad thing. Except, of course, when they need to trot them out for a "we are doing this for the children" speech to win sympathy votes for another miserable social program and/or tax hike.
Liberals in this country have done more to hurt children and protect people who wish to harm them, than they have ever done to help them.
The Supreme Courts decision was based on the fact that the punishment doesn't fit the crime. So if this is the logic, then the two dispicable creatures in Louisiana who viciously raped a 5 and an 8 year old should be put through the equivalent physical and mental torture that their victims had and have to endure. Is that a more humane way of handling this? Would that these beasts were set free on parole and attacked their grandchildren make a difference on their opinion?
As a nation we need to demand a better system to select our Justices (a very ironic title by the way as justice seems to be foreign to the majority of them right now). Today they rule on guns...I shudder to think what they will decide.
