The Emperor is Not Wearing Any Clothes

Last night I read the famous children's story "The Emperor's New Clothes" to my daughter. A simple story of pride and vanity. If there ever was a story more in tune with the campaign of B. Hussein Obama, I cannot think of one.

We all know how the story goes. An emperor is duped by two thieves into believing what was not there was actually there for fear of looking like a fool. A whole town fearing the same followed suit.

In this campaign, Obama plays the part of the thieves. He asks us to believe in change without ever telling you what his change actually is or means. Change is the invisible thread. If you don't see it, you must be a fool, or in terms of this campaign's blind followers, a racist. So everyone, including the media and Hollywood elite, for fear of being painted a fool/racist, perpetuate the message, though they themselves cannot explain exactly what it is. "We need change!" they tell us. Yes, change. That invisible magical thread that will heal us all, make jobs appear out of thin air, stop the threat of Islamo Facisim, end climate change (another Emperor's New Clothes story in and of itself), and makes all one world family. If you cannot see that, then you are a fool and/or a racist. Substance does not matter here.

But we also know how this story ends. Once it is pointed out that indeed the Emperor is not wearing any clothes, it is apparent that everyone was a fool for going along. Can this simple children's story save us from ourselves? Who will be the voice that tells us this before it is too late?

Ladies and gentlemen, I am here to tell you there is no change. Just as there were no clothes...and for you fans of the Matrix..."There is no spoon."

Obama & Iraq

Why is Obama puzzled about the perceptions of a change in his Iraq policy? He clearly stated that he wanted a 16 month withdrawal of our troops in the primary but added, after he had won, that he would consult his the Joint Cheifs of Staff. He states he did not change his policy and that he still is calling for the withdrawal, but only if the conditions on the ground warrant it. Something, by the way, John McCain stated that he would have to do before he could commit to a strategy.
I submit that what Obama actually did, was to cleverly omit the consultation piece from his original policy. The old trick of "I didn't lie...I just didn't tell the whole truth". This type of politics is nothing fresh and new - it is something the Dems have always done. This, mind you, is "Change We Can Believe In!" I guess if you put in the context of Obama changing his mind, his policies, his friends, and his race when it suits him best, then yes, he is definitely the candidate of change.

Next time he wants to replicate the presidential seal...instead of an eagle, he should use a chameleon.
