Top Ten Reasons Congress Won't Let Us Drill

Something to make you laugh, or quite possibly, cry...sometimes it hurts when you laugh.

The Top Ten Reasons the Dems in Congress Won't Allow Drilling Domestically

10. We can't hear the American people over the shouting of "Drill Here, Drill Now!"

9.   We have been exploring for oil. Can't you see our heads are buried in the sand?

8.   Waiting on Lowe's to have a sale on really large drills.

7.   We haven't figured out how to tax the ever living hell out of it yet...give us some time.

6.   We are waiting for Ted Kennedy to get back so we can make it seem like it was all his idea...and then blame it on brain damage.

5.   Ms. Feinstein and Ms. Boxer need to sell their oceanfront properties first and it has been a down market since November of 2006.

4.   The price of gas is making it difficult for us to get in and vote on this.

3.   Solar energy is the wave of the future and we would have it by now, but the sun disappears each day and doesn't tell us where it's going...

2.   Global Warming! Oh, it's cooling right now? Climate Change!

And the number one reason why they won't allow drilling is....

1.   It's the oil companies fault! (This is sadly a true statement...)

Crude Government

New drilling and more access to our own resources such as clean burning coal could reduce our dependency from foreign sources. It would also keep us going a bit until a new energy source is more available and an infrastructure was in place. Sound too much like right...

At least that's what Congress thinks. They have a much better idea...nationalize oil. That's right. Big government wants to take over oil production. Why? Well, they stand on their record apparently. Their record of vastly improving the quality our public school system, their proficiency in handling major disasters, the excellent care being offered to our veterans in VA hosptials, their perfect record in eliminating government waste, the skill at which they balance our budget, and the ease of doing business with the IRS should be proof enough that they are up to the task.

It should be abundantly clear to every American that even though we are shouting from the roof tops (67% of us anyway) "Drill More!" they just aren't listening anymore. "The heck with the uneducated masses that voted us in...if they knew anything we wouldn't be here in the first place."

Many people want to criticize Bush and McCain for "flip-flopping" on this issue, and it is a term that is being severely misused on both sides of the political fence, but the truth is that Americans should expect their leaders to occasionally look at the situation and re-examine their postions once in a while. The Congress simply refuses to do so. Instead, what Congress is suggesting is that this is all Big Oils fault and that the failed governemtn policies have been in fact working well for us. They need to take off the blinders and re-examine their position and stop trying to push their agendas. This is still a government of the people, right?

Noone is saying we stay on petro for our energy needs indefinitely...what we are saying is to ease up on the restrictions until another and better way is on line. Of course to hear that, Ms. Pelosi, you need to get your fingers out of your ears and stop shouting "LALALALALALALA!" so loud.
